Innovation is undergoing a radical change, in opening up to technology, collaborative thinking and the value of generative AI thinking. AI can help design experiments and analyze results.
It has been amazing how AI generative thinking (GenAI) has taken hold. It has only been one year since the launch of ChatGPT, then with a follow-up of GPT-4. My initial work with ChatGPT was to provide the first workable structured process for deploying AI-driven generative thinking into innovation.
In this thinking through of my four questions posed above, I have been added by two views of the very beasts of current Gen AI- ChatGPT and Claude. This can enable rapid experimentation, identify optimal configurations, and uncover novel design approaches. We need a game-changing approach.
Human-Centric Design : Designing technology and AI systems with a human-centric approach is crucial. This involves considering humans’ needs, values, and preferences throughout the design process. For example, using AI in decision-making could lead to bias or discrimination if not designed and implemented responsibly.
AI can be a powerful tool to use in your innovation, designthinking, or ideation projects. We demonstrate how to use popular tools like OpenAI playground and ChatGPT to generate and develop ideas for a number of questions and purpose. Write 30 ideas for names for a new program on design and creativity. The Design Lab 3.

Within this research, I have been questioning how innovation has changed in the last ten years but, more importantly, how designthinking will adapt due to this technology and AI adoption as the avenue of future exploration. I provided the story for Innovation Ecosystems as needed to be explained in a previous post.
Artificial Intelligence in DesignThinking Innovation. We also show how to use artificial intelligence ideation helper ChatGPT with these tools to develop your ideas into visual “rough prototypes” you can show and describe.
Unlike traditional methods for innovation, such as designthinking, ChatGPT poses a fundamentally different challenge because there are no clear problems to address, user pain points to alleviate, or KPIs to achieve. In fact, ChatGPT can seemingly solve problems in almost any industry, domain, or context.
It is recognised today that Ecosystem design and thinking provide demonstrable value and gain. The more we understand ecosystem thinking and design, the more we can shape and respond more effectively in a changing world. Dynamism is so often missing in what we undertake today.
The businesses poised to lead the AI-driven economy will master a fusion of: Artistic DesignThinking AI must be more than functional; it must be elegant, intuitive, and immersive.
