Today when some people talk about innovation they mean inventing or adopting new technology. Others define innovation as entrepreneurship – starting a new business. Information technologists may argue that innovation is mostly about new processes or process re-engineering.
Joseph Schumpeter , the guru of innovation, addressed the process of innovation with his theory of creative destruction and his definition of entrepreneurs as people who combined existing elements in new ways to create a new product or service.
